Commonly used prescribed painkillers are associated with an increased risk of hospital admission for heart failure, according to a new study in The BMJ.

The Minister for Health has told members of the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) that he is keen to see pharmacists prescribing medicines, “perhaps starting with hospital pharmacists in particular”.
