The Minister for Health yesterday (August 10) launched the HSE National Standards for Bereavement Care following Pregnancy Loss and Perinatal Death, to be implemented and applied across the health service in all appropriate hospitals and settings, which clearly define the care parents and families can expect to receive following a pregnancy loss or perinatal death.
A new governance arrangement has been established within the Obstetric/ Gynaecology Department at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise (MRHP) to augment the perinatal morbidity meetings which take place on a monthly basis.
