Approximately two million visits made to a pharmacy per month, PSI annual report 2016

A working group with relevant members of the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) has been established to examine patient safety matters of mutual concern — with a particular focus on safe prescribing and dispensing, Irish Medical Times reports.

The Registrar and CEO of the pharmacy regulator, Marita Kinsella, has been appointed to a senior role back in the Department of Health and will be stepping down from her role in the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI), this month.

The number of registered pharmacists increased from 5,245 in 2013 to 5,439, according to the annual report for 2014 of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
