The recent ‘go live’ of general GP eReferrals at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street brings the number of sites using eReferrals to a total of 45.

The latest number of GPs using eReferrals (December) is “nearing 550”, up from 500 in November.

Following the successful introduction of Electronic General Referrals in the Cork and Kerry region in 2014, the HSE has now completed the roll-out of the service to all hospitals in the HSE South/South West, Saolta and University of Limerick Hospitals Groups.

Over the three months to October, the number of GP eReferrals received has increased by 60 per cent, from 2,289 to 3,654, with the number of GPs using the eReferral solution also increasing, from 285 GPs in August to more than 450 at the end of October.
