Recommendations to enhance Portlaoise services considered

The long-awaited draft plan on future services at Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, will be informed by the views of local GPs and patients, as well as the three health services reports, all of which recommended enhancements to services at the hospital.

A high-level report has been ordered into the creation of an air ambulance for Northern Ireland or a cross-border service — and will be presented to the NI Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety “within weeks”, it has been reported.
