Bill aims to make certain OTC drugs reimbursable under community drug schemes

Proposals in relation to the further availability of emergency contraception through pharmacies are still being considered, the HSE said last week, as it stressed that emergency contraception was not covered under the recently announcement pilot pharmacy-based Minor Ailment Scheme (MAS).

HRA Pharma UK and Ireland Ltd would like to inform you that following a licence variation, the emergency contraceptive ellaOne (ulipristal acetate) became available to buy from pharmacies without prescription from 1st May 2015.

From the first of this month, another emergency contraceptive has become available from pharmacies without a prescription.
