  Dr Pat McHugh, 1943-2015: An Appreciation   Patrick Joseph McHugh followed his father, Dr John Francis McHugh (General Practitioner), into medicine at University College, Galway, as it was then called, in 1967. Pat briefly practised as a GP for a year in Ballindine, Co Mayo, but his abiding passion was hospital medicine.
