A new GP contract

The negotiation of a new GMS contract represents one of the greatest opportunities to radically improve our health services since the foundation of the State, says NAGP President Dr Emmet Kerin General practice needs a new common ‘core’ contract, with a number of options that GPs may select from, depending on their skillset, practice make-up and the needs of their particular patient population. For example, such options would include an urban deprivation contract, a rural contract, a group practice contract or a single-handed contract.
