A cancer clinical trial led by an Irish-based consultant radiation oncologist is likely to change the way treatment for spinal cord compression is administered for patients worldwide. The project, which has involved all the main radiotherapy departments across the country for the past nine years, was completed earlier this year, and the results were presented by Dr Pierre Thirion this week (Monday, September 15) at the ASTRO Annual Meeting - the world’s premier Radiation Oncology Scientific Conference currently taking place in San Francisco.
