O’Brien: no top-up perks at HSE hospitals

Motor allowances, pension payments, private health insurance payments — are not being paid to senior management at any of the HSE hospitals, the HSE Director General Tony O’Brien, has insisted.   “Unlike at the funded section 38 agencies, we have direct access to that information,” said O’Brien. “Our internal audit regularly reviews these things. We are subject to the Comptroller and Auditor General’s direct auditing, unlike these agencies. I am able to place reliance on those things. In addition, we control the payroll and can see it.
