By Gary Culliton. The HSE’s Counselling in Primary Care (CIPC) service has been launched. The CIPC offers clients in distress six-to-eight sessions of counselling, delivered by qualified counsellor-therapists. The new service will be available nationwide and has the potential to see up to 13,000 medical card-holders a year. CIPC is aimed at those with mild-to-moderate psychological difficulties. It is a short-term counselling service with a professionally-qualified and accredited counsellor-therapist. CIPC is suitable for people experiencing difficulties such as depression, anxiety, panic reactions, relationship problems, loss issues and stress.
