Cosmetic surgery is taking place in totally inappropriate environments with “no oversight, no accreditation and no visits by HIQA”, a leading consultant surgeon has warned. Speaking at the IMO AGM on a motion calling on the Minister for Health to “urgently regulate” the provision of cosmetic surgical and non-surgical services, former President Mr Asam Ishtiaq said that such regulation was “long overdue”.
