ICGP to push workforce plight with new Minister

The ICGP is due to meet the new Minister for Health Dr Leo Varadkar formally today (September 18) to discuss the various challenges facing general practice. CEO Kieran Ryan told IMT that the College also hoped to meet with the new Department of Health Secretary General Jim Breslin. “We clearly want to highlight the challenges facing general practice, but in particular the areas of workforce planning and the roll-out of chronic disease programmes,” Ryan commented. “General practice is more than capable of coping if it’s resourced properly.
