Ian Carter appointed as new SDU head

The HSE has announced that Ian Carter, National Director Designate of Acute Hospitals in the HSE and former CEO of St James’s Hospital, has taken over responsibility for the Special Delivery Unit (SDU) with effect from June 27. The SDU was established by Minister for Health Dr James Reilly to reduce the numbers of patients on hospital trolleys and on waiting lists. The waiting list increase in 2013 has been much greater than expected.
