Human rights delegate should accompany IMC

Dear Editor,  Further to your article ‘Bahraini groups speak out ahead of IMC visit’ (IMT, September 5, 2014), it is imperative that the Irish Medical Council (IMC) is not only seen to have visited Bahrain but that during its visit it meets with and listens to those who know what is happening under a repressive regime.  Might I suggest that one way of assuring that this is done, and that the credibility of whatever decision is made is not later questioned, would be to invite a member of the original Irish delegation to Bahrain to join the IMC “committee of…
