Most irish GPs would like to receive targeted payments for chronic disease management (CDM), with lack of funding and time cited as the biggest current barriers to CDM in primary care, new research has revealed. The study is the first national survey of how GPs manage chronic disease in Ireland and showed that few GPs were happy with the current situation.
