Consultants: new pay scale from September 1

A new pay scale for consultants is to come into effect from September 1. Pay would range from €120,000 for a Type B consultant on the first point of the scale to €190,000 for a Clinical Director. New entrant Type A consultants would get performance-related pay rises worth €5,600 extra annually for their first six years in a post. New entrant Type B consultants would get pay rises worth €4,200 annually for six years. After nine years in a consultant post, performance and experience-related increments would see Type B payments jump from €141,000 (point six on the scale) to €149,000.…
