Access to public services improved

The HSE treated 603,911 inpatients in hospitals, 2.4 per cent more than the previous year. Some 826,825 patients were treated on a day case basis, 1.7 per cent more than in 2011. “While managing these increased workloads, we have improved access to services in many areas during the year and have made significant inroads in reducing the time that patients wait for services,” said the HSE Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
