Dr Justin Brophy, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Advisor to the National Office for Suicide Prevention, examines the medical profession’s unfortunate elevated suicide risk, and what we can all do to help address it. As part of my new role as Clinical Advisor to the National Office for Suicide prevention, I intend to engage and dialogue with the profession and our service heads to devise systems to reduce suicide, especially in Irish healthcare settings.
