A study of an online stroke forum has found that some stroke survivors say they are disregarding GPs’ advice on secondary prevention medications, such as statins, with some patients stopping their medication completely. The work was carried out by researchers at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in the UK and published in the journal Family Practice. The study included an analysis of the archives from TalkStroke, a UK online forum hosted by the Stroke Association.
