Young men who are overweight or obese could run a higher risk of developing severe liver disease or liver cancer in later life, a new study published online in the journal Gut has suggested. Researchers from Sweden found that the risk of having a high body mass index (BMI) for developing severe liver disease seemed to be present from an early age and was heightened by the development of type 2 diabetes.
