History of migraine associated with higher risk of stroke after surgery

Surgical patients with a history of migraine have a greater risk of stroke and hospital readmission, according to a new study published in The BMJ. The risk was found to be highest for surgical patients who have migraines with aura, where there are warning signs before the onset of migraine, such as seeing flashing lights.
