In his latest Clinical Update, Gary Culliton examines recent developments in the field of osteoporosis, including diagnostic tools and issues related to glucocorticoids. Osteoporosis is a progressive, systemic skeletal disease characterised by low bone mass and micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue. There is a consequential increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fractures. There are changes in bone density with increasing age.
