Eight in ten asked for written surgical consent

More than eight out of ten Irish people report that they were always asked for their written consent for surgery, a new European survey shows. In Germany, however, the figure is 90 per cent when it comes to being asked to provide written consent. These figures come from the EU Commission Eurobarometer Special Survey on patient safety and quality of healthcare.
