HSE to deliver Cavan scanning service in 2015

Despite significant progress in reducing the numbers of children admitted to adult acute psychiatric inpatient facilities, the Department of Health says it is still not acceptable nor is it in line with the Mental Health Commission (MHC) regulations, which require that all children under 18 years of age should be admitted to age-appropriate services, except in “exceptional circumstances”.
