A RESEARCH programme for an emerging technique that uses light and other forms of radiant energy to understand more about the inner working of cells and tissues has been launched with an inaugural conference at the RCSI.
The National Biophotonics and Imaging Platform Ireland (NBIP) has received E30 million from the Higher Education Authority.

More than 150 researchers from nine Irish and two European third-level institutions will manipulate living tissues to try to treat diseases in non-invasive ways.
NBIP Ireland has also been awarded €2.4 million in EU funding to support the establishment of a European-wide, post-doctoral Career Enhancement and Mobility Programm
