Daily fruit juice linked to diabetes

Fruit juice has been linked to a slight increase in type 2 diabetes in women, according to new research in Diabetes Care.
Three servings a day of fruit and leafy vegetables were not associated with the development of diabetes in the study. However, adding a single serving of fruit juice per day slightly increased the chances of developing the condition.


Adding a serving of leafy vegetable or whole fruit slightly decreased the chances of developing diabetes. The study was carried out over an 18-year period among more than 71,000 women.
The authors of the study concluded that ‘caution should be observed in replacing some beverages with fruit juices in an effort to provide healthier options. The same caution applies to the recommendation that 100 per cent fruit juice be considered a serving of fruit’.

    And all this time I thought fruit juice was a healthy food item. But this study appears to be reliable because it involved 71,000 women and was carried out for 18 years. At least three servings a day of fruit and leafy vegetables are not linked to diabetes. Instead adding one serving of whole fruit or leafy vegetables actually decreased the chance to get the disease.   2. “No sugar added” fruit juice may sound safe but the truth is in the label. If it says sugar, it means sugar whether or not it is “natural” sugar (which people believe to be safer).
    People can learn via hypnosis to be less attracted to beverages which are not healthy. And therefore, hypnosis can help them to avoid diabetes.
    This applies to adults and children.

    This is interesting as it’s a substantial study.The thing is a lot of people drink fruit juice at least once a day.Odd also that it only effects women and not men.Maybe more research is needed?
