The HSE is to introduce an online payslip service for its staff by early 2013, a move expected to achieve significant administrative cost savings.
Already, HSE staff and retirees in Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare and in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon have been able to use a new service to view and print their payslips online from September 2012, as part of a pilot project.
This new improved service allows payees easy access to their pay details 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, according to the HSE.
The online service, the Executive said, would deliver cost savings for the health service and has the potential to reduce payroll costs by in excess of €1 million annually, if fully implemented. It is the HSE’s intention to expand this service to all parts of the country for staff and retirees.
The roll out of this service will be on a phased basis in late 2012/early 2013.
