By Lloyd Mudiwa.

The Irish Forum for Global Health conference this week will explore the impact health workers have on the delivery of health services.

All Irish institutions and NGOs working on the theme of the health workforce will host their African counterparts, spearheaded by world-renowned South African singer and UN envoy for Africa Yvonne Chaka Chaka, at the conference on February 2-3 in the RCSI.
Chaka Chaka is also a UNICEF and Roll Back Malaria Ambassador.
Key speakers to appear at the conference include: Minister of State for Trade and Development Joe Costello; HSE Chief Executive Cathal Magee; Minister of Health for Lesotho Dr Mphu Ramatlapeng; and Medical Council President Prof Kieran Murphy.
Delegates will discuss responding to current challenges in human resources in the health crisis, strengthening the health workforce to respond to HIV and other major diseases, and strengthening and supporting the health workforce.
