Mater Hospital damaged by floods

Bookmark and Share

The Mater Hospital has requested members of the public not to attend the hospital today (July 2) until further notice due to rainwater flooding, which has affected the Emergency Department and other areas.
Those requiring emergency attention should make arrangements to attend another Dublin hospital until further notice. Patients scheduled for elective surgery today should contact the hospital prior to leaving home as their surgery appointment may also be affected.

Heavy overnight rains also resulted in a partial roof collapse in St Camillus’ Ward on the top floor of the old hospital building.
A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed that nobody was injured and patients have been temporarily reassigned to other wards.
The Mater’s main switch can be reached at Tel: 01- 8032000.
