Dr John Hillery appointed to pharmacy regulator

Dr John Hillery, the former President of the Medical Council, has been appointed by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, to the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) – the industry watchdog of pharmacists and pharmacies in Ireland.
Ms Harney also appointed Ms Kate Mulvenna.
Dr Hillery, a consultant psychiatrist, is also currently the Chair of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA).
Kate Mulvenna is a community pharmacy advisor with the Primary, Community and Continuing Care pillar within the HSE. She was previously a member of the Council of the old PSI immediately prior to the enactment of the Pharmacy Act 2007.
